Jung describes the Ouroboros as the symbol for self-perpetuating infancy. This work began around 2000. I don't remember when I started making these pieces. But, I started to assemble these elements recently, with a greater understanding and appreciation for this symbol, which I began investigating roughly 16 years ago. The infant is feeding on it's own food source. The ouroboros is a snake or dragon feeding on its own skin. For Jung, it never grows beyond its own surrounding, it never takes in the light from beyond the cave, so to speak.
