I am always looking at clouds. These clouds seem like they're looking back. I find clouds to be fascinating since they transform themselves into shapes that seem recognizable, sometimes. In making these drawings, I try to be like a cloud in that I want to "go where the wind takes me." I allow formations and concentrations of tonalities to develop. Giving yourself over to what the medium will do is very meditative. It's an act of connecting to spirit or universal consciousness. You are not imposing any egocentric values on the act of moving. I think this is why it's peaceful and psychically cleansing to watch clouds and the activity in the sky. In a state of meditation like this, you can release society's imposed values and connect to universal consciousness. I often refer to this process in art as being like a tuning fork.
