Ephemeralization is a term I picked up from learning about Buckminster Fuller. It describes a process whereby more things can happen with fewer and fewer means, until "everything can be done with nothing." This process is seen in the growth of crystals, plant cells and things like that. In this work, there are very few basic elements, straight lines and the joints used to hold them together. One you have that, there are limitless possibilities. I've installed numerous sculptures with these same pieces over and over again. The mirrors are duplicating what is above them, with no effort. The piece reaches into the ceiling as if it's continuing to grow.
