Half zombie, half human, the president does what presidents do. Obama hasn't been in the zombie state for very long (2012). These caricatures are designed to be cheap, latex finger puppets. At some point I decided that I might embark on a mission of making caricatures of 20th and 21st century presidents. Their global impact is so different than 19th century and earlier presidents. I have stopped at Obama though.
There are certain requirements for creating a caricature. I started going back and making some caricatures of other topical subjects. This may have been an effort to try and process events at the beginning of the 21st century. But the presidential "electioneering" of 2016 is clear evidence of society's sinking to a new low. So, some of the requirements for a caricature include that the subject has to have some redeeming qualities. Trump doesn't have any. That's not to say that he hasn't made any good decisions. The bombing of Assad's Air bases and the appointing of Neil Gorsuch are two pleasant surprises in a trail a filth the guy leaves behind him. The prospect of making a caricature of this person makes me sick. Also, to do so would just be adding to the noise of people creating caricatures of caricatures, which is a moot point anyway.
The point of art is to connect us to a greater aspect of our universal psyche. This has little to do with ego and personalities.
