Fenestrated Sequence of Gaps is a motion-activated sculptural assemblage. It is intended that the viewer/participant become aware that their actions are influencing actions that are performed by various sculptural components. Upon approaching the work, the viewer/participant activates a motion sensor which then triggers a security camera to oscillate, CCTV screen to display and music to play. The combined effect of these elements speaks to aspects of our culture's obsession with security, surveillance, media and narcissism. The makeshift manner of construction of these elements points to a possible parody of this scenario. The music for this piece is included in my album, "Long Lost Friend."
