This painting is part of a series of "invisible" artworks. This one is almost completely invisible in normal lighting environments. It's only able to be seen by human viewers under ultraviolet light. This phenomenon opens up a host of questions. What are the various worlds (personal / universal) that are hidden and|or yet to be discovered or left alone? How can one access hidden elements within a work of art with a tool, such as a specific kind of light bulb, or camera? How is meaning discovered or derived? I often think of works of art as opportunities to engage in a forensic investigation of the various signifiers presented. Here, you almost have to dig for them, wait until the sun goes down or step aside to see what your shadow was hiding. These works are almost completely unable to be photographed accurately. Some details are able to be seen by the human eye, but the camera misses them almost completely. These works would have to be experienced first-hand.
